Welcome, I am Maria Reichert
Artist. Veterinarian.
Artist. Veterinarian.

-Not your typical artist bio, my education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from The University of New Hampshire, followed by a Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM), from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
-Many moons ago I jumped out of an airplane with college friends, and spent a wild summer varnishing sailboats in Newport, Rhode Island. I was once lucky enough to catch sight of the Northern Lights in Durham, New Hampshire.
-One year out of vet school, I opened a small animal veterinary practice and shared those years with both wonderful employees and clients. I sold the practice to focus on raising a family.
-I have an amazing and handsome husband who works as an equine veterinarian, we met many years ago in vet school. I have two grown children, a crazy, rescued Australian Shepherd/ Border Collie Mix, and just the sweetest old sorrel Quarter Horse gelding, that my daughter used to ride and show in their younger years.
-I am a self taught artist, I learn something new everyday, from books, video, and workshops. I have filled more sketchbooks than I can count, maybe my favorite thing to do .
-I currently paint in watercolor and oil paint and feel so fortunate to paint many pet portraits. I have a special fondness for painting pet memorials and find it an honor to capture the heart of a loved and missed pet on canvas or paper.
